North America’s first Legoland Castle Hotel opens on April 27 at Legoland California Resort.

Two young knights, a wizard and a cast of characters will join together to open the family theme park’s new royal kingdom. The concept’s launch on US shores follows the opening of the original Legoland Castle Hotel at Legoland Deutschland in Germany, and a second launched last year at Legoland Windsor near London.

The three-storey, 250-room property at Legoland California immerses guests into a creative Lego world where every room is fully themed to create a castle fantasy. Families can choose from three different room types: Royal Princess, Knights and Dragons and Magic Wizard.

Upon entering the hotel, guests will first step into a Grand Hall where they are met by a Lego wizard before taking a magical levitating lift (elevator) that services the hotel’s three floors.

Other features include a slide in the Grand Hall, Lego building stations in each children’s sleeping area, interactive play elements in the expansive courtyard, interactive water play features by the pool, entertainment from Lego characters, a Legoland retail store and Lego models themed to each room type. Guests staying at this and the existing Legoland Hotel also have exclusive early access to the Legoland California theme park.

The new property is part of park owner Merlin Entertainments’ increased emphasis in recent years on adding themed hotel rooms rooms across its theme park portfolio.
