M&D’s Scotland has unveiled a new butterfly experience in the park’s indoor tropical rainforest of Amazonia.

The experience will run until 31 August with Amazonia keepers on hand to present a free educational tour at 12 noon about the world of the butterfly.

“I think everyone has a soft spot for butterflies and they are fascinating creatures to learn about. For example, many butterflies’ taste with their feet and there are around 18,500 named species,” said Amanda Gott, Zoologist and Amazonia’s Manager.

The butterflies will find their home at Amazonia, Scotland’s temperature controlled tropical indoor forest.

Amazonia is also home to more than 60 exotic species and animals of monkeys, parrots, snakes, frogs, tarantulas, fish and more. Meanwhile, its nocturnal area is home to bats, kinkajou, snakes and scorpions.

Guess are encouraged to ‘take a walk on the really wild side and participate in one of our animal handling sessions, held at various times throughout the day!’

This animal kingdom is just one part of M&D’s Scotland which is home to more than 40 rides and attractions.
