The 2023 edition of the IAAPA Expo Europe is officially in the book and proved to be a memorable occasion.

15,000 attendees were in attendance over the three-day event with 638 exhibitors showing their latest products and innovations.

Vienna was the chosen host for this year’s Expo Europe hailing from Messe Wien Conference & Exhibition Center.

The week started with a fanfare of Austrian dancing, classical music and engaging speeches.

Then the show floor was officially opened to conduct business, educate, inspire, connect and nourish members of the leisure industry.

There were many noteworthy booths on show such as Hologates’ highly impressive Ghostbusters VR Academy virtual reality game, DOF showcasing their rotating virtual reality ride and a notable booth area from Polin Waterparks.

There were product reveals from Mack Rides with its Fantasiana attraction coming in 2025, Attraktion! with its Pigvasion virtual reality headset free game, Jora Vision and Vekoma coming together to create two new rides for Emerald Park and BoldMove agreeing on a new partnership with Immersive Media Theming Group, among many product announcements throughout the week.

A charity auction selling off 10 prized assets and activities was another highlight of the event with Theme park tickets, VIP tours and the Eurosat Coaster from Europa-Park were all up for grabs.

A common conversation during the Expo was how much bigger this year’s event has been and it is another sign that the leisure industry is on more sure footing following the pandemic.

“Business is booming and people are showing they want to make up for lost time and enjoy their beloved attractions even more,” stated one General Manager speaking to InterPark at the Expo.

Vienna will be fondly remembered for all who attended the IAAPA Expo Europe. The route map for the leisure industry now lays with capitalizing on the boom moment that the market has entered.

On evidence from this year’s IAAPA Expo Europe, the wheels are very much back in motion and turning for the leisure industry, just like the iconic Wiener Riesenrad Ferris Wheel.
