Legoland Windsor commenced its own race this month with the launch of its speedway themed duelling roller coaster of Minifigure Speedway.

The resort’s ‘pit crew’ have worked on the racing coaster in what is a world’s first for Lego with two duelling coasters battling for P1 and the ultimate victory.

Both coasters have been given racing names with Team Legends and Team Allstars.

The new £10m attraction opened on 6th April and has been inspired by the great Speedway circuits seen across the world. Riders reach speeds of up to 56km/h as they make their way around the dynamic dual-track layout.

Racers will take their rightful places alongside characters including Corn Cob Guy, Hot Dog Man and Bumblebee Girl in Team Legends and Team Allstars cars. Only then will they put the pedal to the metal as they go head-to-head with the opposing team, racing forwards and in reverse with a winning team every time.

Helen Bull, Divisional Director at the Legoland Windsor Resort, said at its opening: “The whole team is so excited to wave the checkered flag. From coaster testing to polishing the wheels of the Team Legends and Team Allstars cars, the team have been busy getting everything ready as we prepare to welcome guests to the starting line.

“We can’t wait to see the new coaster in action as riders race to become Minifigure Speedway champions!”
