Plans have been revealed for what is described as Britain’s answer to Disneyland. The London Resort theme park will stretch over 535 acres of land on the banks of the River Thames. The huge theme park will be located on the Swanscombe Peninsula near Dartford.

The London Resort will be the largest-scale theme park built in Europe since Disneyland Paris in 1992. The site will be centred on ‘next generation’ rides and attractions, developed in partnership with the BBC, ITV, and Paramount Pictures.

One area of the park will be known as The Jungle and will feature the ruins of a long-lost Mesoamerican civilisation. Another area will be called The Studio, which will be home to attractions based on high-energy blockbuster thrillers, including car chases and high-stake espionages.

The Starport area of the park will focus on 23rd century science-fiction. A grand plaza with a shopping area, hotels, restaurants, and a huge waterpark will be another key attraction of The London Resort.

The park will ultimately be a two-park resort. The first park is scheduled to open in 2024 and the second in 2029.
