Thorpe Park will in the future be officially home to the UK’s tallest roller coaster with Project Exodus having been approved to commence construction.

It is a huge moment in the landscape of the theme park industry – 1 November being the date when plans became reality with the London based theme park being given the go ahead to build the newest and tallest roller coaster in the UK.

Plans were originally revealed on 9 December 2021 with reference to Project Exodus and, after a year-long consultation and due diligence process along with various set backs, construction will finally start in earnest.

Mack Rides are rumoured to be the constructor of choice for the colossal coaster, which will peak at 236ft tall.

The new ride will boast various elements of inversions and a splashdown feature.

It has been a decade since Thorpe Park last built a roller coaster with the debut of The Swarm.

A landmark day for the theme park industry with the creation of Project Exodus on the horizon.
