Stockholm’s Gröna Lund has confirmed a SEK 205 million interactive dark ride opening in 2027, designed by JoraVision and themed around the park’s own 140-year archive.

Gröna Lund has unveiled SCORE!, a laser-blaster interactive dark ride set to open at the Stockholm waterfront park in 2027, representing an investment of SEK 205 million – approximately £15 million at current exchange rates. The announcement ends months of speculation surrounding construction activity at the centre of the park.

The ride will occupy approximately 700 m² between existing attractions Twister and Katapulten, and will run eight trackless vehicles, each carrying six riders, navigated by advanced radar-based positioning technology. Vehicles can spin, reverse and move freely through themed environments – a system that allows the ride path to vary between sessions.

The attraction’s narrative draws on the park’s own history. Riders are cast as agents recruited to restore order to Gröna Lund’s fictional subterranean archive, a space said to hold 140 years’ worth of artefacts, discarded ride concepts and props from the park’s concert programme. Each rider carries a laser blaster; targets appear throughout the chambers, with points accumulated across the group.

Jakob Fagerström, creative director at Gröna Lund and Parks and Resorts, said: ‘The combination of a radar-based trackless ride system, a magical immersive environment, and the fact that guests become part of the game creates an experience unlike anything else.’

Design has been led by JoraVision, the Dutch experience design studio. The ride manufacturer has not yet been confirmed; Gröna Lund has stated the supplier will be announced at IAAPA Expo Europe in September 2026.

As an indoor attraction, SCORE! is positioned to function year-round. Jan Eriksson, CEO of Gröna Lund, said: ‘It’s incredibly exciting to offer our guests an experience that works just as well on a warm summer day as it does during a winter conference or corporate event.’ The park draws over 1.2 million visitors annually and operates a significant corporate events business alongside its public season.

The SCORE! announcement follows a period of sustained investment at Gröna Lund, which in recent years has added the B&M invert Fenix and expanded its site footprint following a long-running planning approval process.
