Vortex Aquatic Structures International, the Canada-based manufacturer and world leader in aquatic play landscapes and entertainment solutions, has appointed Virginie Guilbeault to the newly-created role of vice president of business development in Europe and the Middle East.

Over the past decade, Guilbeault had served Vortex in several business development and marketing functions, playing key roles in developing the company’s international business over the past several years.

In her new position, Guilbeault will coordinate with Kevin Spence, vice president of business development in North America, to maintain a strong global customer focus. She will report to Stephen Hamelin, president of Vortex International.

“Virginie has been a part of the Vortex team for the last decade, during which time she has held roles of increasing responsibility in both marketing and sales,” Hamelin said. “In the past three years, she has been instrumental in establishing Vortex as a contender in these regions.

“In Europe, we have a strong presence with established offices in Paris and Lyon in France; Valencia, Spain; and Copenhagen, Denmark. We have established channel partners in much of the rest of Europe and the Middle East, too, and Virginie will help us grow our on-the-ground capabilities and resources to better meet clients’ needs.”
