Blackpool Pleasure Beach is offering a new unique experience. The theme park is allowing visitors to walk along the tracks of the Nickelodeon Streak in an experience known as Walk the Woodie.

The Nickelodeon Streak rollercoaster opened in 1933. The classic wooden rollercoaster is now open for a unique visitor experience, which lasts for 90 minutes. Equipped with helmets, harnesses and protective equipment, guests can step onto boards and walk down the tracks of the iconic rollercoaster.

The experience includes visitors gaining insight into how wooden rollercoaster are mare maintained. Guests will need to complete a practical training section to navigate the lower level of the ride.

A spokesperson for Blackpool Pleasure Beach said: “The walk is a physically demanding activity including steep climbs, drops, heights and the surface can be uneven, dirty and slippery.

“Exposed nails and both rough and sharp edges are part of the nature of a wooden rollercoaster structure.”
