The Dutch marine park Dolfinarium Harderwijk has opened a new water attraction – and this one is not for the dolphins, but for paying guests!

Waterpret, which literally means “water fun”, features eight slides. Children can enjoy themselves on the slides while parents can enjoy a drink or snack on the terrace and the sunbathing area overlooking the water playground.

Launched on July 27, the new addition is already proving popular with guests in what has been an extremely hot summer in the Netherlands and much of Europe. The Mexican waterslide manufacturer Aquakita provided the family-friendly attraction.

Access to Waterpret is included as part of the regular Dolfinarium ticket price, but guests must bring their own swimwear. As well as dolphins, the park in Harderwijk also features walruses, sea lions, seals, harbour purposes, sharks and rays. Once part of the Compagnie des Alpes portfolio, it is now operated by the Aspro group from Spain.
