According to reports, a public consultation is to take place on Monday 19th September between 1-3pm and 4-6pm in the Alton Towers Conference Centre.

It is believed the public exhibition is to confirm the planned indoor attraction which will be located where Coaster Corner used to lay and its main attraction, Alton Mouse.

The three-roller coasters were situation in Coaster Corner: Alton Mouse, Alton Beast and the 4 Man Bob. The area was popular back in the late 80’s and early nineties until it closed to the public in 1992. Since then, the area has been used for storage and waste purposes.

A notable reason the area remained out of action for attractions is due to the proximity of the residents of Alton, who have a say in the noise pollution the park impacts. In recent times, the issues between Alton Towers and residents concerning the sound levels have diminished. With the park going down the indoor attraction route, this will appease local residents.

Furthermore, with a dearth of indoor attractions around the UK, Alton Towers can capitalise on pleasing local residents’ views of the park and create an indoor attraction rarely seen domestically.

When a ‘SW’ attraction at Alton Towers is discussed, it always creates a stir such is the long list of stellar attractions the park has created using the famous codename. Air, Nemesis, Oblivion and The Smiler were all given the SW moniker with the last attraction to be named ‘SW’ was in 2018 with SW8 becoming The Wicker Man, an eagerly anticipated wooden roller coaster in the pipeline for decade at Alton Towers.
