Plopsaland De Panne is celebrating a record number of guests during the 2022 season.

The Flemish amusement park attracted 1.4 million visitors to its Belgium resort last year – becoming the most visited amusement park in Belgium.

“Thanks in part to the further expansion of the number of opening days, the park set a new record,” a spokesperson for Plopsaland confirmed. Plopsaland is now open all year round, as the first large amusement park in Belgium.

Its Plopsaqua De Panne water park also received a record number of guests with 300,000 visitors passing through its doors.

“Fortunately, a tumultuous start to 2022 turned out not to be as bad as first predicted for the rest of the year,” says Plopsa director Steve Van den Kerkhof.

Nonetheless, factors such as the energy crisis and inflation presented a further challenge, which “once again required a meticulous plan to keep costs under control and to realize the business plan”, added Van den Kerkhof.

“Despite these challenging times, our visitors once again found their way to our amusement parks, water parks and accommodation options in droves.”
