Robotic Assistance Devices (RAD), a high-tech start-up which delivers artificial intelligence and robotics solutions to empower organisations, has announced plans to take their robots to Florida where they will make their debut at theme parks.

The robotic security guards, known as ROAMEO (Rugged Observation Assistance Model Electronic Officer), are to make their first appearance at Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Magic Mountain.

RAD is also planning on taking its robot security personnel to Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World Resort.

The autonomous robots feature speakers, cameras, a touch screen and a communication system that goes two ways. The devices can determine when visitors are not wearing face coverings and when guests are in restricted areas.

ROAMEO technology is not designed to replace human security guards.

RAD aims to deploy around 100 robot guards in 2022 and is in talks with theme park operators in Orlando.
