The UK’s oldest mainland theme park Wicksteed Park, opened since 1921, has created further history with a new 25-metre-high Ferris Wheel.

The wheel, named The Garden Wheel, will be one of the largest in the region and will offer breath-taking views over the park and its surroundings.

The Ferris Wheel features 18 gondolas and provides impressive views out across the park and the surrounding Northamptonshire countryside.

The new attraction will accommodate up to 72 passengers and is situated at the top end of the park and is included in the price of a wristband.

The new attraction is suitable for the whole family and is part of our commitment to add even more fun and exciting things for families to enjoy together.

Sam Towers, Operations Manager at the park said: “The new Garden Wheel provides an entirely new dimension to the visitor experience and offers an incredible bird’s eye view of the Park.”

At the time the ride was unveiled Megan Wright, Wicksteed Park’s Head of Sales and Marketing, said: “We are very excited about the launch of the first of our new rides this year, The Garden Wheel, which will not only showcase incredible views of our beautiful park, it will also be great fun for everyone to enjoy.”

“It will also become part of our events offering throughout the year, providing a unique experience for wedding couples and their reception guests as well as allowing people to wrap up warm with a hot drink on fireworks night and in the run up to Christmas.”
